  Wahhabi Mawlids [Mehrajaan]

It is widely believed that Wahhabi/"Salafi" are against the idea of holding celebrations of Mawlid. But that's not true. They celebrate not one, but many Mawlids known and called by then Festivals [mehrajaan]. Here are some of the Wahhabi/"Salafi" Mawlids we have witnessed.

1- Mawlid of Shaykh Muhammad ibn `Abd al-Wahhab, Shaykh-an-Najdi (Also, the title which was given to Shaytan), Shaykh al-Islam of "Salafis"/Wahhabis, and Imam of the Two Cities (Riyad and Dar`iyya):

Every year at the anniversary date of Muhammad ibn `Abd al-Wahhab's death, a great feast is held at the Ibn Sa`ud University in Riyad (in Najd) at which time they praise the unparalleled magnificence of their beloved religious leader, listing his qualities and reciting new poetry about his greatness. All over the world, their embassies also fulfill this important communal obligation (fard kifaya). This is NOT `ibada, of course.

2- Mawlid of the State, known as National Day[1]:

This Mawlid, similar to Independence Day, Flag Day, and Army Day, is  celebrated every year in the country with international gala festivities, fanfare, parades, army reviews, podiums and thrones, and also, of course, new poems of praise and Madih recitations for the State founders and current rulers, all at colossal cost, but whatever means leads to fulfilling an obligation (fard), is itself an obligation. Of course this is NOT `ibada.

3- Mawlid of the Nation's Century:

This was a gigantic and truly new Mawlid, the like of which was never seen before. Last year we all witnessed the great celebrations whose main slogan was "100 years KSA" to commemorate one century of freedom from the innovated Khilafa and the establishment of the Sunni Kingdom. On this occasion thousands of shiny and colorful lights, new constructions, inventive and tasteful decorations, posters, banners, placards, and other graphic art productions were displayed in public places and broadcast over the media with orchestral music, poems, and commentary of self-praise and glorification that filled the heart with warmth, love of dunya, and national pride. All Mawlids should be like this! (Needless to say, this is NOT `ibada.)

On Slandering the ‘Ulama and The Pious Shaikhs’ of Tasawwuf

In Defense of True Islamic Belief

(With a warning to the silent ‘Ulama)

Ustadh Muhammad Sa’id Hunafa Qadri

 INTRODUCTION

As we draw nearer the Hour of Qiyaamah, there   seems   to be a proliferation of agents of kufr and batil (falsehood) raising their heads in an attempt to confound the Muslim Ummah.    The latest target of their attack on Deen ul Haqq has been the true Muslim leadership found in the form of the ‘Ulama ul Haqq who practice the knowledge of Deen that have acquired and envision living In Islamic states where Shari’ah is enforced in letter and spirit, as well as the pious Shaikhs of Tasawwuf who strive to uplift the Ummat by teaching them how to adhere to Deen in letter and spirit.    These two champions of True Deen, The 'Ulama ul Haqq   and the Pious Shaikhs   of Tasawwuf are the very heartstrings of   the   Ummah.   If   they   can   be eliminated, that is, if love of the 'True 'Ulama and the Pious Shaikhs can be removed from the hearts of the Muslims then the enemy will be able to vanquish the Ummah.    Allahu ta ‘ala has promised those who have Imaan and do pious deeds that He will establish them as the power on earth, that He will change their state of fear   to a state of peace and security, because the worship Him and don't commit shirk of anything with him.     The job of the agents of Shaytaan is to turn the Muslimeen away from those who would safeguard their Deen, and safeguard their Imaan.     These guardians are the 'Ulama ul Haqq and the Pious Shaikhs of Tasawwuf.

We have attempted in this brief tract    to    bring    out    certain deficiencies in key elements of the arguments of the modernists, and the Wahhaabi/Salafiyya movement in their attack on the Deen ul Haqq.  Our hope is that some of the ‘Ulama ul Haqq will take up the challenge and having been put to shame by this effort of a few simple Muslims, lovers of the 'Ulama ul Haqq and the Mashaaikhul Tasawwuf.

AHADITH ON INTERPRETING THE HOLY QUR'AN

WITHOUT SOUND KNOWLEDGE

There are a number of Hadith related to the issue of interpreting the Holy Qur'an without sound knowledge. Two of them are found in the collection of Ahadith known as Mishkatul Masabih by Imam al-Tabrizi (ash-Shafi'i), one from Ibn Abbas and the other from Jundub (Allah be pleased with them):-

(A) Ibn Abbas (Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (Peace be upon him) as saying: "He who speaks about the Qur'an on the basis of his personal opinion (only) would find his abode in Hell fire. In another version: He who speaks about the Qur'an without sound knowledge of it would find his abode in Hell fire." (Tirmidhi).

(B) Jundub (Allah be pleased with him) reported the Prophet (Peace  be upon him) as saying: "He who speaks about the Qur'an on the  basis of his personal opinion (by any accord) he commits an error,  even if he is right." (Tirmidhi and Abu Dawood). (See Mishkatul- Masabih, 1/234-235, English ed'n)

Al Albani Uveiled: 50 Errors PDF Print E-mail
Radd al Salafiyya - Al Albani
Written by Shaykh Saqqaf

AL-ALBANI'S WEAKENING OF
SOME OF IMAM BUKHARI AND MUSLIM'S AHADITH.

Al-Albani has said in "Sharh al-Aqeedah at-Tahaweeah, pg. 27-28" (8th edition, Maktab al-Islami) by Shaykh Ibn Abi al-Izz al-Hanafi (Rahimahullah), that any Hadith coming from the Sahih collections of al-Bukhari and Muslim is Sahih, not because they were narrated by Bukhari and Muslim, but because the Ahadith are in fact correct. But he clearly contradicts himself, since he has weakened Ahadith from Bukhari and Muslim himself! Now let us consider this information in the light of elaboration :-

SELECTED TRANSLATIONS FROM VOLUME 1

No 1: (*Pg. 10 no. 1 )

Hadith: The Prophet (Sall Allahu alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallim) said: "Allah says I will be an opponent to 3 persons on the day of resurrection: (a) One who makes a covenant in my Name but he proves treacherous, (b) One who sells a free person (as a slave) and eats the price (c) And one who employs a laborer and gets the full work done by him, but doesn't pay him his wages." [Bukhari no 2114-Arabic version, or see the English version 3/430 pg 236].

Al-Albani said that this Hadith was DAEEF in "Daeef al-Jami wa Ziyadatuh, 4/111 no. 4054". Little does he know that this Hadith has been narrated by Ahmad and Bukhari from Abu Hurayra (Allah be pleased with him)!!

No 2: (*Pg. 10 no. 2 )

Hadith: "Sacrifice only a grown up cow unless it is difficult for you, in which case sacrifice a ram." [Muslim no. 1963-Arabic edition, or see the English version 3/4836 pg. 1086].

Al-Albani said that this Hadith was DAEEF in "Daeef al-Jami wa Ziyadatuh, 6/64 no. 6222." Although this Hadith has been narrated by Imam's Ahmad, Muslim, Abu Dawood, Nisai and Ibn Majah from Jaabir (Allah be pleased with him)!!

No 3: (*Pg. 10 no. 3 )

Hadith: "Amongst the worst people in Allah's sight on the Day of Judgement will be the man who makes love to his wife and she to him, and he divulges her secret." [Muslim no. 1437- Arabic edition].

Al-Albani claims that this Hadith is DAEEF in "Daeef al-Jami wa Ziyadatuh, 2/197 no. 2005." Although it has been narrated by Muslim from Abi Sayyed (Allah be pleased with him)!!

No 4: (*Pg. 10 no. 4 )

Hadith: "If someone woke up at night (for prayers) let him begin his prayers with 2 light rak'ats." [Muslim no. 768]. Al-Albani stated that this Hadith was DAEEF in "Daeef al-Jami wa Ziyadatuh, 1/213 no. 718." Although it is narrated by Muslim and Ahmad from Abu Hurayra (may Allah be pleased with him)!!

No 5: (*Pg. 11 no. 5 )

Hadith: "You will rise with shining foreheads and shining hands and feet on the Day of Judgement by completing Wudhu properly. . . . . . . ." [Muslim no. 246].

Al-Albani claims it is DAEEF in "Daeef al-Jami wa Ziyadatuh, 2/14 no. 1425." Although it has been narrated by Muslim from Abu Hurayra (Allah be pleased with him)!!

No 6: (*Pg. 11 no. 6 )

Hadith: "The greatest trust in the sight of Allah on the Day of Judgement is the man who doesn't divulge the secrets between him and his wife." [Muslim no's 124 and 1437]

Al-Albani claims it is DAEEF in "Daeef al-Jami wa Ziyadatuh, 2/192 no. 1986." Although it has been narrated by Muslim, Ahmad and Abu Dawood from Abi Sayyed (Allah be pleased with him)!!

No 7: (*Pg. 11 no. 7 )

Hadith: "If anyone READS the last ten verses of Surah al-Kahf he will be saved from the mischief of the Dajjal." [Muslim no. 809].

Al-Albani said that this Hadith was DAEEF in "Daeef al-Jami wa Ziyadatuh, 5/233 no. 5772." NB- The word used by Muslim is MEMORIZED and not READ as al-Albani claimed; what an awful mistake! This Hadith has been narrated by Muslim, Ahmad and Nisai from Abi Darda (Allah be pleased with him)!! (Also recorded by Imam Nawawi in "Riyadh us-Saliheen, 2/1021" of the English ed'n).

No 8: (*Pg. 11 no. 8 )

Hadith: "The Prophet (Sall Allahu alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallim) had a horse called al-Laheef." [Bukhari, see Fath al-Bari of Hafiz Ibn Hajar 6/58 no. 2855]. But Al-Albani said that this Hadith was DAEEF in "Daeef al-Jami wa Ziyadatuh, 4/208 no. 4489." Although it has been narrated by Bukhari from Sahl ibn Sa'ad (Allah be pleased with him)!!!

Shaykh Saqqaf said: "This is only anger from anguish, little from a lot and if it wasn't for the fear of lengthening and boring the reader, I would have mentioned many other examples from al-Albani's books whilst reading them. Imagine what I would have found if I had traced everything he wrote?"
